MARINERS NAVIGATING WITH G.R.I.T. (Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity)

Our theme for this year is Mariners Navigating with GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Tenacity). Fostering a growth mindset enables students to view challenges as opportunities. Strengthening one’s resilience encourages students to be flexible and adjust to the ever-changing world. Cultivating personal integrity also increases a student’s self-confidence. While developing tenacity ensures a student’s ability to persevere when things get difficult. As we navigate uncharted waters together, we will rely on our crewmates (students, staff, parents, and community partners) to inspire and encourage us along the way!

WELCOME AWESOME TEAM OF 2022-2023!!

I was raised in Mission Viejo and graduated from MVHS. I attended the University of Southern California and I love Trojan football.

I started out my career as a news writer back in Minneapolis. Not long after... my heart and mind pointed me in the direction of teaching and I have never looked back! I have my Master's in Education and I love being a positive role model in and out of the classroom. I have over 27 years of experience in the field of education. This coming year will be my 21st year in CUSD. I taught for 16 years at Wagon Wheel Elementary and this is my 5th year at Malcom.

I am a big believer that all students can learn
Getting students to believe in themselves is #1
I like having fun in the classroom
I give time in class to finish some of your homework. You work hard during the day.... less homework after school!
We will work together to create a team in the classroom.... we are stronger as one... and it makes for a happy and positive learning environment.
Gratitude, Perseverance, Compassion, Respect, and Accountability are my BIG 5

I snow ski in the summer...say what? I have a dog... I love to travel... exercise....spend time with family....watch football... and I take to heart the job of teaching and creating happy students ready to take on life!
